- Reports were made and no conditioned meeting with the person was made for consideration for both parties.
- The Substitute Teachers are reported under a machine and no one meets with them.
- The Substitute Teachers find out only at the point of termination.
- The Advisory Supervisor failed to acknowledge the years and work beyond the reporting system that was never looked into for discussion and meeting.
- Their reporting was a three strikes and you are out. Amidst the three strikes, the substitute teacher is not made aware of the strike.
The Three Reporting Events were made known to me until after the termination. The first, was a substitute position for 2nd grade and a student was found with an accident in his person and the mother was upset. The principal made a report on the substitute teacher as being unable to reach the need of this student and was not willing to meet with the teacher to discuss the incident. The Substitute teacher was not made aware of the incident until she read it on a report. It is apparent this substitute teacher has worked for this teacher more than once and has worked with the children more than once because of a relationship with the teacher in being a fellow Graduate Classmate in the Masters Program at California State University of San Bernardino. The substitute teacher discussed with the teacher the completed plans and schedules as usual and it was apparent she was not aware of a student having bowel movement during his resuming in the classroom.
The second, was a secretary who was upset that she was given a position to work with children of ESL Spanish Only Intervention when the substitute teacher stated she is not fluent in the language. It was apparent the substitute teacher had been received under these conditions before and thus, the request for her to teach under these circumstances was offered to her. The secretary was upset and difficult with her and caused a report against the substitute teacher. The report was made and yet, no meeting for this conduct was made for further evaluation. The substitute teacher has worked under these conditions. The secretary overstepped the evaluation.
The third, was a report for leaving on a minimum day.
And she was terminated with no appreciation to the work outside of these reports and the manner of which it was done was rude and unreliable for her future.
- In the first case, the Principal reported the case without any proper authority to the consideration of the event and the persons involved in the present outcome. It was evident the substitute teacher was not presented the case and the blame was an automatic assumption of her ill response to a need in an obvious reality of care for the child who had an accident. The substitute teacher has worked with children under several emergency cases and her response has always been a response. It is apparent she was not communicated to for a response.
- The ESL Spanish Only Intervention class would not have been accepted by her if she has not included this as an encounter with many Spanish speaking students and environment and learning. You reprimanded her for accepting the position. And why did you damn offer the position?
- The minimum day leaving early and CAPs after school program is not the responsibility of the substitute teacher. It is evident they are not consistent in addressing this problem
Do you realize the work of a Substitute Teacher and stress of trying to provide for your empty positions? Emergency not emergency. Needed and very needed. The inconsiderate lack of preparedness. The damn system needs a serious look at in how you treat people.
Tom Halderson was the Hiree and was the person who did not specify a termination, but the approach came forth like one. The last meeting seemed unclear on what they were intending in this manner of discussion.
